Students will explore texture using clay, found objects from nature and some human-made materials. They will discover how different materials can imprint textural impressions into a 5x5 square slab of clay which could function as a trivet or coaster or perhaps framed and hung on the wall. Become comfortable working with clay through simple handbuilding techniques and then unravel the mystery of making pottery by exploring basic techniques of working at the potter's wheel.
