The Building Blocks of Education with Families First Learning Center

Families First Learning Center is one of our newest non-profits in the Albion area, providing accessible education-based childcare. Built from the dreams of CEO Taneka Thomas, Families First Learning Center is uniquely positioned to provide quality childcare to students as young as six weeks to 12 years old.

With her background in early childhood development, Thomas saw the need to have a place where families have affordable childcare that extends beyond the role of a daycare. Thomas believes in the need of building education in the formative years of a child. Currently Families First Learning Center is offering PreK for All, free pre-k for 4-year-olds, preparing the young students to kick off their kindergarten year with prior classroom experience.

Families First Learning Center is a nature-based learning center with an emphasis on math and reading, with soon to be enrichment programs in music, second language, gardening and more, all located in Crowell School. Thomas truly believes in nurturing each student’s abilities from a young age, so they have the support and community they need as they grow.
