Albion Anagama

The Albion Anagama is the largest single-chamber wood-fired kiln in the United States. Ken Shenstone owns and operates the kilns just outside of downtown Albion.  Ken and other artists from around the world fire their art in four different kilns that Ken has built.  The kilns are built from salvaged firebricks from the Albion Malleable Iron Company while it was shutting down. The kilns are fired several times a year and due to the requirements to keep the temperatures stable in the kiln throughout the firing, they become events drawing people from around the area to celebrate.
