“If I can help someone along the way my living shall not be in vain.” – Vivian Davis’ daily motto
Vivian Davis may be retired from her career as a school counselor and educator, but it’s fair to say she is as busy as ever. With involvement in over ten Albion area organizations, Davis is sparking change and creating an everlasting legacy.
Davis has been an Albion resident for more than fifty years. Her path to Albion was directly after graduating from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio to follow her soon to be husband, Arthur, who was beginning an engineering career at Corning Glass Works. Davis worked in Albion Public Schools for countless years as an elementary school social worker building to a high school student counselor.
Now, Davis is continuing her impact on the Albion community and beyond with her organizational involvements. She is involved with each organization because it represents a different purpose or value she holds dear. Davis is involved in a variety of sectors including city government, health care, education, entertainment, and transportation.
What’s her driving force? Creating change. Davis wants to stay involved to have a voice and impact on the community around her. Every day she strives to be the listening ear for someone in need or the light brightening someone’s day. All the little efforts add up to a lasting impact in someone’s life.
Want to get involved? Davis’ biggest advice for anyone looking to become more active in their community was to reach out to the organizations that interest you. She highly recommended the Greater Albion Chamber as a resource to learn more about community organizations and who may need support.
