Get excited Albion as Arts Midwest is bringing the samba swing of Brazil to Albion as part of Arts Midwest World Fest. During a weeklong residency in town, Paulo Padilha and his band will offer workshops in local schools and other community locations, and will perform live in concert at the Bohm Theatre, November 18th at 3PM.
Catch the rhythm of urban Brazil with Paulo Padilha’s songs and rhythms. Padilha’s bright music, mischievous humor, and clever lyrics invite audiences to reflect on everything from parents to philosophy.
Born in São Paulo, Padilha travels between the sounds of traditional samba and other Brazilian popular musical styles. A music teacher of more than 30 years, Padilha is a master musician and educator that specializes in rhythm and song workshops for children, teenagers, and adults. With a band of master samba musicians and dancers, Paulo Padilha e Bando will make you want to dance all the way home!
This is an exciting event for our community as we get to explore a different country’s culture of music. With community workshops this coming week at the library, Kids ‘N’ Stuff, and more, Albion can get full immersed in the experience.
