Albion Downtown Development Authority Encourages Businesses to Enhance Historic Charm
The Albion Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is excited to continue to offer its Façade Grant program designed to support eligible businesses and organizations within the downtown district. With the 2023 deadline set for December 1, local businesses are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to preserve and enhance the historic charm of downtown Albion.
The Façade Grant initiative focuses on empowering local businesses and property owners to improve the front façades and rear entrances of buildings, contributing to the overall appeal and sustainability of downtown Albion. These grants are a crucial component of the Albion DDA’s commitment to revitalizing the downtown district and fostering economic growth.
Key Highlights of the Facade Grant Program
1. **Up to $5,000 Matching Grants** Eligible applicants can receive matching grants of up to $5,000 to fund improvements such as but not limited to painting, signage, window repairs, awnings, and accessibility enhancements for both front facades and rear entrances.
2. **Application Deadline: December 1st, 2023** Interested parties must submit their applications no later than December 1, 2023, to be considered for funding.
Last year, the Albion DDA awarded approximately $15,000 in façade grants to three deserving businesses within the downtown district, including Kids ‘N’ Stuff, Palmer House, and Riser-Wade Properties. These grants played a pivotal role in enhancing the visual appeal of these businesses and contributed significantly to the overall revitalization of downtown Albion. Read more about them here.
