Drummer, label founder and White Stripes archivist Ben Blackwell recounts “I Had No Idea What I Was Doing: Tales of Rock and Roll Archiving in the Modern Era”, at the Marilyn Crandell Schleg Memorial Lecture on Thursday, October 10 at 7p.m. in Bobbitt Visual Arts Center.
Blackwell is the co-founder and co-owner of Third Man Records along with his uncle, Jack White. He will share how Third Man Records is preserving music that’s no longer available and re-releasing it on vinyl.
The Marilyn Crandell Schleg, ’58 Memorial Lecture is funded by a gift from the Schleg family, providing visiting archivists, preservationists, curators, and historians the opportunity to lecture on archival and library topics and work with the Albion College community in preserving their legacy.
This presentation is free and open to the public. For more information contact Albion College archivist Elizabeth Palmer, ’10 at epalmer@albion.edu or 517.629.0487
