Join us in downtown Albion, Michigan for the global celebration of Fête de la Musique (“Music Day”, “Make Music Day”, “World Music Day”) beginning at 5pm on June 21st, the Summer Solstice!
On Music Day the citizens of a city or country are allowed and encouraged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. Free concerts are also organized, where musicians play for fun and not for payment.
The idea is that “everybody shares their music”.
In Albion, Michigan, we’ll have our musicians play on the sidewalks and corners of downtown! Numerous businesses will be open and lit up, and some will have power available (this will be published for your reference), although acoustic acts are strongly encouraged!
ALL ARE ENCOURAGED to share their musical talents; this is NOT limited to professional musicians. Get out there and share your music with the rest of the world!
– All styles of music
– All ages of people
– Groups or solo acts
– Professionals or beginners
– Find a spot and stay there for a while, or wander the downtown
Thinking of playing or singing? Let everyone know that you’re planning to participate, and if you know – let us know what style of music!
Albion Fête de la Musique is supported by Albion Design, the Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce, Stirling Books & Brew, Dickerson Music Company, Sister City Committee, Albion Malleable Brewing, Build Albion AmericaCorps VISTA, Blues at the Bohm, Walk the Beat Albion!
