Albion Aglow 2020

There is no doubt that this year has been a challenge for our community, our families, and our country. It is also true that we have come together as a community in so many ways to bring smiles to each other’s faces create that feeling of connectedness despite keeping our distance.

The Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce, the Albion Downtown Development Authority, Downtown Albion and other community volunteers have come together to help ensure we all feel a bit of that Christmas joy this holiday season and we want EVERYONE involved. Below are opportunities for your church, community organization, or business to participate in Albion Aglow 2020. The deadlines are fast approaching and as always, the more the merrier. Read below to learn about the unique ways Albion is bringing the holiday spirit to life this year and register to get involved.

  • Reverse Parade (EDARAP): What’s a reverse parade you say? We plan to line Superior Street with parade entries, floats or holiday displays and allow individuals to drive past the display (one-way traffic) or walk the sidewalks to view the entries. If you would like to join the EDARAP click here to complete the short form by Monday, November 30th.  The Albion Aglow EDRAP will be held Friday, December 4th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

  • Window Decorating Contest: As in years past we want to see your creativity when it comes to decorating your business windows. This year’s theme is POLAR EXPRESS so rewatch the movie or read the book and get those creative juices flowing. If you would like to join the Window Decorating Contest click here to complete the short form by Monday, November 30th. Judging will take place on Thursday, December 3 and the winner will be announced Friday, December 4th.

  • Santa Mail: We want the wishes of Albion’s kiddos to be received by Santa this year so we’re starting Santa Mail! We are asking that businesses provide a Santa Mailbox inside your business between Small Business Saturday (November 28 and December 25). Volunteers will collect the mail twice during that time period and arrangements are being made to highlight the Christmas wishes of our children. More details forthcoming. Please see the attached document for additional information as well as suggestions on where to get a mailbox.  We ask that you notify Caroline Hurteau (cdobbins@albionreinvests.org) or Ramona Kidder (dickersonmusic@yahoo.com) if you will be participating by Wednesday, November 25 so that we will be able to publish an accurate map of all mailbox locations.
