Rhythm Society Orchestra at Swingin at the Shell

The Rhythm Society Orchestra is a 15-piece dance band specializing in true vintage swing music. This tight-knit swing band strives to present this truly American music the way it was done back when swing was king. Although based in Detroit, this band covers top venues throughout the Midwest and has been featured on numerous television and radio programs. Their attention to detail and professional delivery is second to none. The arrangements they play are the way the original band and arrangers intended, presented using top musicians, old-style music stands and always with a polished presentation. Take a step back in time and have a blast reliving music from the great American songbook!

The Rhythm Society Orchestra has been featured at many of the Midwest’s largest swing dance events including dance workshops with some of the world’s top instructors. Mr. King has been featured on a number of local television and radio programs. He has also performed with veterans of some famous big bands, including Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Sam Donahue, Joe Williams, Lionel Hampton, and Big Joe Turner.
